Judges Information

Thanks to dedicated community members like you, Fairbanks History Day continues to thrive in its 23rd year. Your expertise remains a critical component behind the success of our local effort.

We continue to see a strong and diverse pool of submissions each year and despite our current challenges, we expect a good turnout in this year's competition.

This year’s theme is "Communication in History: The Key to Understanding".  I strongly recommend you take a moment to review the narrative of this year's theme and  various YouTube webinars located to the right of this screen.

You will receive your judging assignments by email no later than February 15th. Included will be scoring sheets and web links to your judging assignments.

All judges scoring sheets are due back no later than 5pm, Wednesday, February 17th, 2021.

For your convenience, a scoring rubric and judging tips are located in the right-hand column of this page.

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE WORKING WITH NEW SCORING SHEETS THIS YEAR. PLEASE FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE NEW RUBRICS HERE.

In closing, I’d like to extend my appreciation for your continued support.  A list of all award winners and links to their projects will be posted to this website on Friday, February 19th for you to enjoy.
