2023 FAIRBANKS HISTORY DAY CONTEST
JANUARY 31 - Registration Opens online at www.fairbankshistoryday.org
The following is required:
Documentary & Performance: URL uploaded to submission
Website: link of webpage uploaded to submission
Research Paper: PDF emailed to info@fairbankshistoryday.org
Exhibit: Exhibit projects should be dropped off at the Pioneer Park Civic Center on Monday, Feb. 20th between Noon and 5:00 p.m.
The process paper and bibliography should be included with the exhibit in printed format. Please indicate all student names, school, and division in the file names when registering for the contest online.
EXHIBITS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN-PERSON. ELECTRONICALLY SUBMITTED EXHIBITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED THIS YEAR.
A Process Paper is required with each submission.
*Teachers must register before students may submit their projects.
FEBRUARY 17 - Registration closes. No late or incomplete entries will be accepted.
FEBRUARY 17 - Virtual Judges Training 6:00 to 6:30pm.
FEBRUARY 20 - Noon to 5pm Exhibit drop off at Pioneer Park Civic Center.
FEBRUARY 22 - Judging Ends at 5:00pm.
FEBRUARY 24 - Fairbanks History Day Award Winners Announced at Noon.
The projects of the top 3 award winners in each category and division will be posted online on February 24, 2023. These award winners are eligible to compete at the Alaska State History Day competition in April 2023. Top finishers in the state competition will advance on to the National History Day Competition in June of 2023.
2023 VIRTUAL STATE CONTEST DATES:
Registration: March 1-20, 2023
Contest Judging: April 3-10, 2023
Results Announced: April 14, 2023
